$1702 PFD Stimulus Check 2025: Thousands of Alaska residents are set to receive a $1,702 stimulus payment in May and October 2025, thanks to the state’s Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) program, a state initiative that distributes income generated by the state’s natural resources, primarily oil.

The $1,702 payment corresponds to the 2024 dividend, consisting of $1,403.83 as part of the regular dividend and an additional $298.17 bonus approved by the state legislature as energy assistance. Although the amount of the 2025 PFD has not yet been confirmed, it is expected to be similar.

What Is the Alaska PFD?

The Alaska Permanent Fund was established in 1976 with the goal of preserving a portion of the state’s oil wealth for future generations. The fund is managed by the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation (APFC) and invests in various assets, including stocks, bonds, and real estate. Each year, around 5% of the fund’s earnings are distributed to eligible residents as the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD).

Eligibility Requirements for the 2025 PFD

To receive the 2025 PFD, you must meet certain eligibility criteria:

  • To receive the PFD 2025, it is mandatory to have lived in Alaska throughout 2024 with the intention of remaining in the state permanently. In addition, you must have been physically present in Alaska for at least 72 consecutive hours in 2023 or 2024.
  • Any absence of more than 180 days must be justified by reasons such as study, medical treatment or military service.
  • People with felony or multiple misdemeanor convictions in 2024 do not qualify for the benefit. Applications submitted after March 31, 2025, are also not valid, even if all other requirements are met.

Each resident, including minors, had to submit their own application through the official website pfd.alaska.gov or by using paper forms.

Finally, the PFD Division warns that obtaining an out-of-state driver’s license with REAL ID could affect eligibility, so it is recommended to avoid it.

This benefit is an important source of financial support for thousands of families in Alaska and will remain in place as long as the state fund remains strong.

2025 PFD Payment Amount

The official PFD payout for 2025 is $1,702 per eligible resident. While this amount can fluctuate from year to year depending on the performance of the state’s oil investments and budget decisions, the $1,702 payout reflects a stable economic outlook for Alaska.

    • Same here in Oklahoma. Living below poverty levels as a single senior on SS only. Just this second QTR of 2025, major changes to Medicare and Medicaid benefits have been felt. More and higher co pays insured. Now we get even less SNAP amts. Now having to pay for tests, and much more. We can’t afford these changes. They just killed us!
